Im folgenden Vortrag geht es um den Angriff auf den menschlichen Geist, der dem Abdriften in den Totalitarismus stets voraus geht. Nur mit dem systematischen Verwirren, Ängstigen und Erhöhen des psychologischen Drucks auf die Individuen kann es letztlich zum Mentizid („geistige Verarmung“ oder auch „Brainwashing“) kommen, der dann wiederum die Ausgangslage ist für einen Totalitarismus, bei dem die Welt in klare Kategorien, in ein neues Ordnungssystem, in Führer und Verwaltete unterteilt wird.
Logic can be met with Logic. Illogic cannot. It confuses those who think straight. The Big Lies and monotonous nonsense have more of an emotional appeal, than logic and reason. While the people are still searching for a reasonable counter-argument for the first lie, the totalitarians can assoult them with another.
The totalitarian systems of the 20th century represent a kind of collective psychosis. Wheter gradually or suddenly, reason and human deceny are no longer possible in such a system. There is only a pervasive atmosphere of terror and a projection of the „enemy“ imagined to be in our midst. Thus society turns on itself, urged by the ruling authorities.
